Law Enforcement Officer
Law Enforcement Officer – In addition to enforcing laws, law enforcement officers are primarily responsible for protecting lives and property. Upon successful completion, students will be prepared to respond to calls, conduct traffic stops, issue citations, arrest suspects, investigate domestic issues, write detailed reports, patrol, give first aid to accident victims, and more. Highly qualified instructors provide professional experiences that bring the topics to life 鈥� taking students from the traditional classroom and providing real world, hands-on training. Most major law enforcement departments require completion of this training before consideration for employment. Enrollment is limited to those individuals who have successfully completed the Special Function Officer Training (SFO).

Law Enforcement Officer
Admission Requirements: SFO must be completed before LEO
* 21 years of age
* POST Entrance Exam (NPOST)
* Pass Physical Training Standards
* Pass BCI Background Check
* Applicant must have a medical release performed and signed by a physician prior to entering the academy (form can be found at the following website listed under medical release:
http://www.utahpost.org/knowlegebase/applicant
* Must pass physical fitness training standards listed below once enrolled into the program
* Vertical Jump – 15″
* Isometric Plank (1:00 – 1 minute)
* Push-Ups – 16 reps (No Time Limit. However, as soon as the cadet stops, sags/arches, or moves hands/feet the test is terminated.)
* 1.5 Mile Run – 15:37 minutes
