Diesel Technician Part-Time

Job Title:ÌýDiesel Technician Part-TimeÌýÌýÌý

Pay Range:Ìý$24.00-$29.00 per hour depending on experience

The opportunity:ÌýThe Diesel Technician is responsible for the safe operation of the College’s vehicles by performing maintenance and repairs as needed. They perform a variety of skilled and semi-skilled repair and maintenance duties ranging from operating equipment to tasks such as but not limited to: diagnosis and repair of engines, brakes, transmission drivelines, electrical, fuel, exhaust, cooling, suspension, and hydraulics in heavy-duty diesel trucks.

What we’re looking for:

  • High school diploma, or equivalent
  • Two years previous experience which must include working as a diesel technician
  • Must successfully pass a criminal background check, possess a valid class A CDL or be able and willing to obtain a class A CDL, pass a DOT physical and DOT drug test, and have an acceptable driving record
  • Diesel Technician Certificate preferred

What you’ll do:

  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance and service on diesel engines and related systems
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose and perform repairs on diesel engines and related systems
  • Inspect diesel trucks and diesel engine systems to ensure conformance with compliance, safety, and environmental standards
  • Respond to emergency breakdowns and perform on-site repairs when necessary
  • Order replacement parts, ensuring that parts orders are correct and complete; manage replacement parts inventory
  • Coordinate repairs with external repair shops when needed
  • Review Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIRs) and addresses deficiencies
  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance and other repairs on College’s fleet vehicles as assigned
  • Document repairs and maintenance performed

EMT Adjunct Instructor

Job Title: EMT Adjunct Instructor

Pay Range: $29.00 per hour
Hours: The hours will vary. Currently, we could use help from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM Tuesdays and
Thursdays for the AEMT class, and 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays for the EMT class. Starting in August we will need coverage Monday through Friday 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM
assisting with teaching skills to high school students.

The opportunity
The adjunct instructor will be responsible for assisting in teaching and training students in both the
practical and theoretical aspects of advanced emergency medical services, including patient assessment, treatment procedures, and medical protocols. They will assist with delivering lectures and covering gaps in the instructional calendar. The main duty of the adjunct instructor will be to oversee hands-on skills training and evaluate student performance to ensure competency and readiness for exams, including the National Certification exam, NREMT. Additionally, they ensure compliance with educational standards, contribute to curriculum development, and mentor students throughout their training.

  • Assist with instruction and training within applicable program in accordance with curriculum and standards for subject matter being taught as assigned by the lead instructor or program director
  • Teach effectively using a competency-based curriculum
  • Evaluate the knowledge and competency of students and provide accurate reports under the supervision of the lead instructor and program director
  • Maintain a productive and safe learning environment consistent with s¼¶ËØÈË policy

Law Enforcement Academy Director

Job Title:ÌýLaw Enforcement Academy DirectorÌýÌýÌý

Pay Range:Ìý$36.80-$44.10 per hour depending on experience

The opportunity:ÌýTheÌýLaw Enforcement Academy Director will be responsible for the organization and oversight of the s¼¶ËØÈË Law Enforcement Academy, an authorized satellite academy of the Utah Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST). They will be responsible for the instructors, courses, projects, services, and activities related to the program. This position instructs POST courses as appropriate and performs a variety of administrative duties, as required, to assist and evaluate instructors in educating students from different backgrounds, in the classroom and in the lab, using a variety of teaching methods.

The opportunity:

Working as an integral part of our team, this position provides administrative support to instruction department programs and the Custom Fit program.

What you’ll do:

  • Administrative Assistant for instruction department programs, as assigned
  • Responsible for Occupational Advisory Committee work/minutes recording for programs, as assigned
  • Assist in processing program pre-requisite documentation
  • Assist in event planning, setup, and execution
  • Greet students and public, receive calls, respond to questions, and make appropriate referrals
